Things to do in Scotland – 2019
We are excited for the adventures we’ll all be having together in Scotland this summer. We’re also making plans to make the most of our time after writing together in Dundee. Here’s what we’ll be doing:
- Scottish Highlands Tour – Taylor, our program coordinator, will be extending her trip for a chance to see the Loch Ness monster, among other Scottish wonders.
- Edinburgh Fringe – Peter, meanwhile, will be making time in his trip for the world’s largest arts festival. Established in 1947, the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe spanned 25 days, featuring more than 55,000 performances of 3,548 different shows in 317 venues. Sure, he’ll be visiting Edinburgh on an excursion, but he loves non traditional theatre.
If you want to see more of Scotland while we’re abroad but those ideas aren’t up your alley, or if you just want to learn more about where we’re going before we get there, we recommend the following guides:
- Rick Steves’ Guide to Scotland – The master suggests where to go, what to do and how to do it. Also available in paperback.
- Lonely Planet – Follow this guide, but travel with a new writer friend and you won’t be so lonely.
- Top 5 Things to See and Do in Scotland – Says who? Says Nomadic Matt.
