Join us for a welcoming online writing workshop that will invite you to borrow tools from playwriting to expand your approach to writing in all genres.
WORKSHOP
Saturday, May 22, 2021
12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. EDT
Led by L M Feldman
In a time of upheaval, tragedy and reckoning, theater can be a transcendent space where we gather to listen to, write with and share support with other humans. This workshop will invite you to dig around in the playwright’s toolkit to borrow tools that can be used for writing in all genres—enriching our craft, sparking new ideas and cracking open our approaches to our own genres anew. We’ll explore three key playwriting elements (voice, space and movement) as we listen, share, read, brainstorm and write in a nourishing, communal space. Bring your curiosities and hungers, your struggles and compassions. We’d love to have you.
Space is limited. Register today for this inspiring workshop.
“Murphy Writing supports and encourages writers of all levels to find their voice and use it. I highly recommend their programs.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I take this workshop if I’ve never written a play?
Yes! Writers of all experience levels and genres are welcome. Email info@murphywriting.com if you have questions.
I’m new to writing workshops. Will I fit in?
Absolutely. We pride ourselves on building an encouraging community of writers where all feel welcome.
I’ve been to dozens of workshops. What will I get out of this one?
Our faculty challenge experienced writers to push beyond their usual limits. If you have been writing for decades, they will compel you to go deeper, take more risks and experiment with form and content. We know that experienced writers benefit from our programs based on the fact that hundreds of “re-PETERs” have attended three or more of our writing getaways.
I’ve never taken an online workshop before. Do I need special equipment?
No. If you’re reading this website, you probably have everything you need to take this workshop. You can participate using a laptop or desktop computer, or even a tablet or smart phone.
“Coming together with compassionate listening has never been more important. Murphy Writing’s commitment to this priceless.”
