In this free, generative writing session held over Zoom, participants will write together in response to a witty quote and an inspiring prompt. Participants will also have the chance to share what they write. Open to all ages and experience levels.
This is a free event, but RSVP via Facebook is encouraged.
You don’t need to create a Zoom account in order to “attend,” but you do need access to a computer, smart phone or other telephone. Write-in Leader
Peter E. Murphy was born in Wales and grew up in New York City where he operated heavy equipment, managed a nightclub and drove a taxi. He is the author of eleven books and chapbooks of poetry and prose including The Man Who Never Was, Mean Time and two books of writing prompts. More than a dozen excerpts of his memoir-in-progress, You Go To My Head, have been published as standalone pieces in journals, including “Looking for Thelma,” winner of the 2018 Wilt Nonfiction Chapbook Prize. The founder of Murphy Writing of Stockton University, Peter has received dozens of awards and fellowships and has led hundreds of workshops for writers and teachers. About the Collingswood Book Festival
Now in its 18th year, the Collingswood Book Festival has been called the most quiet fun experience thousands of people can have. Due to the ongoing pandemic, this year’s festival is going virtual with live and recorded sessions with authors and poets. Learn more.
