Jung Hae Chae is a Korean-American writer from New Jersey. She received a scholarship to attend the 2020 Winter Poetry + Prose Getaway. Her poetry and prose has appeared in AGNI, Calyx Journal, Crab Orchard Review, Ploughshares and elsewhere. Most recently, she won the 2019 Pushcart Prize in nonfiction and 2019 Emerging Writers Contest in nonfiction from Ploughshares.
Erin Jin Mei O’Malley is a queer Asian American writer. They received a scholarship to attend the 2020 Winter Poetry + Prose Getaway. Their work appears or is forthcoming in Redivider, wildness, Tinderbox Poetry Journal, Cosmonauts Avenue and others. They have received a scholarship from the Lambda Literary Foundation and nominations for a Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net. You can follow them @ebxydreambxy
Rebecca Rodriguez, an adjunct writing professor from Pleasantville, NJ, was the 2020 recipient of the U.S.1 Poets’ Cooperative Scholarship to attend the Winter Poetry + Prose Getaway. She graduated with a Master’s in Writing from Rowan University in 2019, and she works at a restaurant as a side-hustle—the result of unhealthy addiction to money. Her short stories, op-eds, and poems can be found in BlazeVox, Glassworks,and The Voices Project. She is currently writing a novel titled The Cusp of Thirty (working title, suggestions welcome) which she updates weekly on Wattpad. Find, read and leave feedback here.
Lynne Schmidt is a mental health professional and award winning poet and memoir author. She received a scholarship to attend the 2020 Winter Poetry + Prose Getaway. She is the author of the chapbooks Gravity (Nightingale and Sparrow Press) and On Becoming a Role Model (Thirty West). Her work has received the Maine Nonfiction Award, Editor’s Choice Award, and was a 2018 and 2019 PNWA finalist for memoir and poetry respectively. Lynne is a five time 2019 Best of the Net Nominee, and an honorable mention for the Charles Bukowski and Doug Draime Poetry Awards. In 2012 she started the project, AbortionChat, which aims to lessen the stigma around abortion. When given the choice, Lynne prefers the company of her three dogs and one cat to humans.
